Get wonderfully messy for the holidays in Very Merry Mixed Media Art Journal with Leslie! This festive art journal spread is packed with Christmas color, vintage-inspired imagery, playful snowmen, ornaments, snowflakes, collage elements, and layers upon layers of texture.

Leslie will guide you through building a richly layered background using paint, patterned papers, collage, stenciling, stamping, and mixed-media techniques. You’ll learn how to combine bold patterns and contrasting colors while adding snowy effects, splatters, dimensional elements, and finishing details that bring the entire spread together.

The result is wonderfully imperfect, colorful, textured, and full of Christmas personality—the kind of project where more really is more!

Supplies to Bring

Please bring your basic class kit, plus:

Apron, your art journal or canvas, baby wipes, roller/brayer, paper trimmer, and foam tape.

And yes, the apron is a very good idea for this one!

What will I create in Very Merry Mixed Media Art Journal?
You’ll create a colorful Christmas-themed mixed media art journal spread featuring snowmen, ornaments, snowflakes, vintage-inspired holiday images, patterned papers, and lots of layered texture.

What techniques will we use?
Leslie will guide you through mixed-media techniques including collage, layering, painting, stenciling, stamping, splattering, and adding dimensional details.

Is this a traditional Christmas project?
It has plenty of classic Christmas imagery, but the mixed-media treatment gives it a much more artistic and playful look with unexpected colors, distressed layers, bold patterns, and lots of texture.

Do I need mixed media experience?
No. Leslie will guide you through building the journal spread layer by layer.

Can I receive a kit if I miss this class?
No. Because of the techniques and materials used during Leslie’s Mixed Media classes, these projects cannot be converted into take-home kits.
