Boo-tiful Mixed Media Art Journal with Leslie — $42

Get ready to play with color, layers, and a little Halloween mischief! Join Leslie for a Boo-tiful Mixed Media Art Journal class featuring whimsical pumpkins, ghosts, bats, florals, bold patterns, and plenty of wonderfully messy mixed-media details.

You’ll work in an art journal while exploring techniques for building a richly layered background with paint, patterned papers, stencils, collage elements, and mark making. Leslie will show you how to combine colors and patterns, create depth with overlapping layers, and pull all those fabulous Halloween elements together into a finished journal spread.

The combination of pinks, purples, orange, black and white gives this project a playful Halloween look that’s a little spooky, a little unexpected, and definitely Boo-tiful!

Supplies to Bring

Please bring your basic class kit: craft mat, ruler, favorite adhesives (both wet and dry), scissors, bone folder, paper trimmer, pencil, and tweezers/pick-up tool.

Also bring: baby wipes, apron, craft mat, and your art journal.

What will I make in the Boo-tiful Mixed Media Art Journal class?
You’ll create a colorful Halloween-themed mixed media art journal spread filled with layered papers, paint, patterns, pumpkins, ghosts, bats, florals, and other dimensional details.

What techniques will we use?
You’ll explore mixed-media techniques including layering, collage, stenciling, adding color and texture, mark making, and combining multiple patterns into a cohesive art journal page.

Do I need to bring an art journal?
Yes. Please bring an art journal to work in during class, along with the additional supplies listed above.

Do I need mixed media experience?
No. Leslie will guide you through the process and demonstrate how the different layers and techniques work together.

Class Registration & Cancellation Policy

Please register for classes at least 48 hours in advance to allow our instructors time to prepare class kits.

Cancellations must be made at least 72 hours before the scheduled class. Cancellations made within this timeframe will receive store credit, and the advance notice gives us an opportunity to contact our waitlist or fill your space.

For cancellations made less than 72 hours before class, you may send someone in your place. Mixed Media classes cannot be made into take-home kits, so a kit cannot be provided for this class.
